How to Replace the Battery in ComplianceTrackr DL Series Sensors
The ComplianceTrackr DL Series Sensors are long-life wireless temperature and humidity devices designed for extended operation. These sensors use a replaceable 3.6V lithium battery (model ER18505).
This article explains how to safely replace the battery in your DL Series sensor.

- New 3.6V Lithium Battery – Model: ER18505
- Small Phillips-head screwdriver
- Clean, well-lit workspace
📝 Step-by-Step Battery Replacement Instructions
1. Prepare the Device
- Ensure the DL Series sensor is not currently in use.
- Place the device on a stable surface with the front facing up.
- Locate the 4 screws on the front panel.
2. Remove the 4 Front Screws
- Remove all 4 screws using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- Store the screws safely.
3. Remove the Front Casing (Important: Keep the White Gasket)
- Lift the front casing away from the device.
- You will see a white gasket beneath the cover.
- This gasket ensures the device maintains its IP water/dust protection rating.
- Make sure the gasket does not fall out or get misplaced.
- The gasket must be correctly reinstalled during reassembly.
4. Turn the Internal Power Switch to OFF
- Locate the internal power switch on the circuit board.
- Move the switch to the OFF position before removing the battery.
5. Remove the Old Battery (ER18505)
- Locate the ER18505 3.6V lithium battery.
- Note the orientation and wiring.
- Gently remove or unplug the battery.
- Avoid pulling on wires or bending contacts.
6. Insert the New ER18505 Battery

Insert the new ER18505 battery in the same orientation as the original.
Ensure the polarity matches the + and – markings.
Check that the battery is seated correctly and no wires are pinched.
Switch the internal power switch back to the ON position.

The device should automatically start within 30 seconds, and the LED should flash green a few times.
If the LED does not flash, try manually starting the device:

Press and hold the power button for at least 3 seconds, or until the green LED begins flashing.
If the LED still does not flash after several minutes, do not reassemble the device.

- Contact support for assistance.

7. Reattach the Front Casing (with Gasket)
- Ensure the white gasket is correctly positioned around the device.
- Place the front casing back onto the unit.
- Reinsert and tighten the 4 screws evenly.
- Do not overtighten.
8. Dispose of the Old Battery Safely
Lithium batteries such as the ER18505 must be disposed of responsibly:
- Use a battery recycling location
- Use an e-waste disposal facility
- Follow local hazardous waste guidelines
Do not dispose of lithium batteries in general household waste.
